Objectives:
1. No child over the age of 8 yrs to be excluded from membership on the grounds of
disability, gender or race, all to be treated equally, with dignity and respect.
2. All children under the age of 10 yrs to be accompanied by a responsible adult
at all training sessions, rehearsals and performances
3. No child to be left alone to await collection after any training session,
rehearsal or performance
4. Only praise and encouragement used to enable children to reach their full
potential
5. All adult members to behave in a responsible, approachable manner
6. All adult members to be aware of different types of abuse
7. Observance by all adult members of changes in behaviour patterns or any other
significant signs of abuse at training sessions, rehearsals and performances
8. All adult members cognizant of procedures should they have any suspicions of
any form of abuse (referral procedures to be displayed at all sessions,
rehearsals and performances)
9. A register of every member kept with contact name and telephone number in
case of emergencies
10. C.A.T.S. Constitution and Child Protection Policy to be reviewed at every
Annual General Meeting
The director and treasurer (Mrs B. Thomas, Mrs L. Beard) are to be child
protection officers for Cawston Amateur Theatrical Society, as from 12/07/2007.
